How to make a 3D film strip in Photoshop
This tutorial is great! It shows you how to create a 3D film strip is Photoshop.  This idea would be great for a banner for a party or invitation.  It’s easy and fun, and it doesn’t take much work.  The tutor does run through the tutorial a bit fast so, if you’re not skilled in Photoshop it could take a few times of going back over the video to get it right.  I did this tutorial, and the project came out pretty well.  However, the pictures should be formatted before you pull them into the 3D film strip.  Other than that, everyone should try this project!

This video is awesome!  The narrator is clear and easy to understand.  He takes his time to explain how to do this project, and he even gives options if the designer wants color.  I will definitely try to create this piece.  However, I would like to have more meaningful text for the piece than just a word scrambler.  This is a typography piece that all graphic designers should have in their portfolio.   I found this tutorial very helpful, and I am working on adding a piece like this to my portfolio very soon.

This week my blog is about a tutorial from the College of Business and Technology’s website.  This tutorial quickly explains how to live trace and live paint in Illustrator.   Initially, what the instructor is explaining is very interest, however he does not explain it in a way that is captivating or interesting. The instructor goes through the tutorial at warp speed.  If the person that is watching the video is new to graphic design, or isn’t well versed in Illustrator they would have a hard time keeping up with this video.  More than likely they would probably have to watch the video several times to get the gist of what he is trying to show them.  I did try this myself and it did in fact help me create an interesting design. So, my conclusion is that this tutorial video would be greatly effective for graphic designers.  However, for people who are not designers, and are just trying to learn something new and different should be prepared to watch this tutorial more than a few times.
